Outdoors lovers and civic boosters of all stripes gathered on September 21 at San Francisco’s newest park, China Basin, to toast the region’s enviable parks system and raise some needed funds to keep the city’s green spaces thriving.
SF Parks Alliance hosted this year’s Party for the Parks at a spot overlooking China Basin’s beautiful waterfront view. More than 300 guests gathered to celebrate our parks and all they offer to the community, enjoying an open-air cocktail reception to kick off the night’s festivities. Attendees also enjoyed an elegant picnic themed evening at Pier 48, near the new park’s scenic grounds.
Guests arrived in their spiffiest cocktail attire, many sporting sunset hues that complemented the outdoor backdrop. Revelers helped themselves to Aperol spritzes, caviar canapes and a selection of seasonal fruits, while waiting for the exciting live auction to begin. Spotted in the crowd were VIPs SF Parks Alliance CEO Drew Becher, SF Parks Alliance Board chair Louise Mozingo, event co-chairs Lateefah Gainey Baxter, Kelly Nice, Jaclyn Gallo, Kathryn Mullens and Rachel Topham.
The fabulous event raised over $630,000 to support Parks Alliance’s incredible work to create, sustain, and advocate for parks and public spaces across San Francisco.
