Weapons of Light Foundation Spreads Peace Through Art

Weapons of Light Foundation is a new organization promoting and supporting the production of original art and music. Founded by San Francisco-based conceptual artist Philip Lawson, the organization’s mission is to promote peace by empowering individuals to live by the virtues of compassion, kindness, forgiveness and love.

The Weapons of Light Foundation’s first annual gala was held on October 19 at Martin Lawrence Galleries in Downtown San Francisco. Guests enjoyed a luxe spread curated by Chef Lionel Haeberle, and music was provided by a quartet featuring San Francisco Conservatory of Music cellist Amos Yang. Attendees also got the chance to bid at an auction featuring works by Philip Lawson, Brian Wall, Prabin Badhia and Xie Xiaoze. Funds raised will benefit the creation of new artworks, and also help support an orphanage in India called Bethlehem House of Bread.
