Zoe Hong Holds Fashion-Focused Book Signing at Oakland School of the Arts

On March 12, designer and educator Zoe Hong held a book signing event at the Oakland School for the Arts, launching her new book + workbook combo, Fashion School in a Book, and Fashion School in a Book Design Journal. The event, co-hosted by Stephanie Verrieres and Derek Piazza, started with an interview, wherein the pair queried Zoe about her career path and personal design philosophy. 

The interview was followed by an open Q&A session, where audience members asked Zoe questions about fashion, her book, her career and her favorite designers. Along with the book reading and signing, guests also got to try their luck in a lively raffle. With a focus on sustainability and thoughtful design, Hong hopes that her new book will teach this philosophy by detailing the fashion design process in a way that is accessible even to beginners.
