For the past 10 years, the Hana Gala has been the flagship event of the Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco (KACF-SF). Held annually to celebrate the local Korean community, gather Korean philanthropists and fundraise, the benefit helps support the most critical needs of the Korean American community. It is the largest event of its kind on the West Coast. This year’s soiree at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco broke the foundation’s fundraising record, generating more than $1.2 million to support essential services for this underserved community.
KACF-SF hosted 460 guests at this year’s sold-out Hana Gala, and the lucky partygoers were treated to an uplifting night of community and celebration. The evening’s program was moderated by Mina Kim from KQED and featured a silent auction, live auction and an awards ceremony honoring the contributions of Eunice Kim, Chief Product Officer of Netflix, and James Kim, partner at Qatalyst Partners. Drew Paik, executive director of KACF-SF said, “The money raised at the annual Hana Gala helps fund the programs and research needed to address these issues so that everyone can live happy and healthy lives.”
