Chinese American International School Hosts Annual ShowCAIS Fundraiser

Founded in 1981 as the nation’s first Mandarin immersion Preschool through 8th grade school, the Chinese American International School (CAIS) has served San Francisco students for nearly 50 years. The annual ShowCAIS Auction and Gala has been held each spring to gather families, faculty, and friends in support of the school’s mission and programs. 

Thanks to this year’s benefit gala, held May 17 at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, CAIS has a million reasons to be thankful for its friends—$1,240,000 to be precise, raised to support its signature programs. In addition to a live auction that galvanized giving, the school’s Fund-A-Need featured testimonials from students and teachers about the importance of CAIS’s Global Programs in China and Taiwan. The final total for the Fund-A-Need portion of the program was $808,000 which will seed an endowment to assure that all CAIS students can access life-changing resources forever.
