On December 10 holiday revelers and civic boosters met up for an event they could all get behind–a live-action love letter to the city titled “Dear San Francisco.” The one-night-only event, which featured personal stories shared by San Franciscans and a live acrobatics performance, was a sparkling celebration of the city we all love.
While enjoying wine and posh noshes from local purveyors, guests rubbed shoulders with local luminaries including former mayor Willie Brown and Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis. Ahead of the performance, audience members were asked to write their own letters to San Francisco, and some of those letters were read aloud as part of the performance. Proceeds from that night’s fund-a-need benefited the Raphael Cruz Scholarship Fund, supporting the dreams of Bay Area youth through access to performances, summer study and scholarships for training in the circus arts.
