Each year the San Francisco Opera Guild, a music education and outreach organization, finds a special way to thank its biggest supporters for helping bring opera to the Bay Area. This year did not disappoint, with composer and man-about-town Gordon P. Getty welcoming the Guild to an elegant reception in his private residence. Guests enjoyed a selection of delectable hors d’oeuvres, while sipping wine and discussing the finer points of the night’s music program.
The live performance showcased the talents of singers soprano Samsara Dluzak and baritone Eugene Bracoveanu, who sang a selection from The Magic Flute, and Danielle Cheiken, the Bay Area soprano who joined Curtis Resnick in a duet from Don Giovanni. The San Francisco Opera Guild’s education programs reach thousands of arts lovers of all ages in K–12 classrooms and after-school programs, as well as employing opera experts to share the beauty of this art form through the Opera Previews series, workshops and school outreach for children as young as kindergarten. This event was made possible by Presenting Sponsor, Northern Trust
