On February 6, the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (Foundation) held its annual Hearts in SF benefit gala at The Conservatory at One Sansome. The swank soiree–and the Hearts After Dark afterparty–was a celebration of the health and vibrancy of San Francisco. So it was fitting that the Foundation chose that night to honor one of San Francisco’s most visionary leaders, the Honorable Willie L. Brown, Jr. Foundation CEO Kim Meredith presented the former Mayor with the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of Mr. Brown’s lifelong commitment to health equity, social justice and the community of San Francisco.
The night’s other honorees included Dr. Kate Margolis, Dr. Marlene Martín and Michael Texada, who received Hero and Heart Awards, and the GLIDE Foundation, which received the Community Impact Award. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner, live auction and tunes from DJ Umami. The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation supports excellence in patient care and innovation at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, and works to ensure equity, access and quality health care for all.
