Izzy’s Steaks & Chops Throws VIP Dinner to Celebrate Reopening

It’s been a bit of a wait for the most devoted fans of Izzy’s Steaks & Chops, a Marina neighborhood gem just coming off a six-month renovation process. But the local favorite made up for it when they hosted a select crowd for a swanky preview dinner on February 11. On the eve of its official reopening, Izzy’s invited some of its closest friends to have a look at the fully reimagined two-story dining and bar space. The redesigned interior blends an inviting, convivial atmosphere with elevated design elements, seamlessly paying homage to the restaurant’s storied past.

The special guests at the preview, including Mayor Daniel Lurie and philanthropist and drag performer Juanita MORE!, ordered off the same menu served at Izzy’s original opening nearly 40 years ago. There was an array of choices, each more decadent than the last, like filet au poivre and Oysters Rockefeller. Guests enjoyed an intimate dining experience, grabbing cocktails with other guests before and after dinner at the bar or the upstairs lounge. Now Izzy’s fans old and new can visit the refreshed Steiner Street stalwart for a taste of the past in a newly updated venue.
