Jennifer Siebel Newsom Hosts Annual Representation Project Gala

Filmmaker and Founder Jennifer Siebel Newsom hosted The Representation Project’s 8th Annual Flip the Script Gala on November 15, celebrating a night of purpose and passion. Founded in 2011, The Representation Project (TRP) leverages the power of media to address harmful gender norms and stereotypes, advancing its mission of fostering gender equity. The gala— a cornerstone of TRP’s efforts— supports critical gender justice projects and initiatives. Guests were treated to electrifying performances, including soulful renditions by legendary Bay Area jazz vocalist Paula West and a dynamic live art showcase by performance artist David Garibaldi.

This year, TRP founder Siebel Newsom honored Roselyne C. Swig and Dr. Caroline Heldman with the illustrious Founders Award, for their leadership and commitment to gender justice. Siebel Newsom also presented Courage Awards to Adama Iwu, Dr. Jackson Katz and Dolores Huerta, recognizing their courageous voices for social change. TRP uses a full-court media press of films, campaigns and youth programs to bend the long arc of history toward intersectional gender justice.
