San Francisco’s Palace Theater became a glamorous speakeasy destination as ArtSmart hosted its enchanting Summer Speakeasy Soirée, blending prohibition-era style with world-class musical performances. The evening’s star, internationally acclaimed soprano Nicole Car, brought audiences to their feet with breathtaking interpretations that ranged from operatic masterpieces to cherished popular standards, accompanied by the masterful pianist Yang Lin.
The authentic Spanish cuisine served at the elegant dinner elevated the evening’s sophistication, with guests enjoying traditional tapas including jamón serrano and chicken croquetas, followed by an impressive parrillada featuring grilled chorizo, chicken and carne asada. The night’s most inspiring moment belonged to Emely Barrios, whose stirring performance of “My Man” demonstrated the profound impact of ArtSmart’s mission to transform young lives through music education and mentorship.
