San Francisco Art Week 2025 Opens with Fabulous Kickoff Party

On January 18, San Francisco Art Week and Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco welcomed over 1500 art lovers to the ICA’s new downtown location “The Cube,” for a party to kick off the second annual edition of SF Art Week. A Bay-Area wide event that fosters connections among art lovers, collectors, galleries and museums, SF Art Week features exciting, accessible events scattered around the city and beyond.

On the night of the SFAW kickoff, a line stretched around the block, with eager partiers waiting for the ICA’s doors to open. VIP guests on hand included San Francisco’s new mayor Daniel Lurie, San Francisco Supervisor Stephen Sherril and artists Windy Chien and Michail Michailov. Guests enjoyed beats by DJ Marcus Rosario while sipping drinks supplied by Rye on the Road and Best Day Brewing Company. Attendees interested in exploring their creativity got to make their own silk-screen prints complements of City Studio, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young artists. As a parting gift, San Francisco Art Week provided a guide to Art Week participants, with insider tips on where to eat, drink and shop while discovering great art.
