After 11 years at the helm of one of the nation’s oldest conservation organizations, Save the Redwoods League CEO Sam Hodder announced that he would be stepping down from his position. At a gathering at San Francisco’s beautiful Julia Morgan Ballroom on March 27, Hodder’s colleagues and friends honored him for his work shepherding the organization through a period of growth and evolution.
A longtime conservation professional, Hodder joined the League as president and CEO in 2013. During his tenure, Hodder has been a driving force behind the League’s expansive work, publicly championing the organization’s mission to protect and restore California’s redwoods and giant sequoia forests and connect people to their beauty.
