SF Greek Film Festival Wraps 2025 with Slate of Jury Prize Winners

The 22nd-annual San Francisco Greek Film Festival (SFGFF) hosted a wrap party for this year’s fest, hosted on March 22 at the festival’s home venue, the Delancey Street Screening Room. This year, a total of 30 films were shown–eight narrative features, nine short narrative films and 13 documentaries–and the festival closed out by announcing the top prize winners of the 2025 competitors. Among this year’s honorees were the Yorgos Zois film Arcadia, which won Best Narrative Feature, and Loxandra Maria Loukas, who scooped up the prize for Best Performance in a Short Film.

Hollywood luminary Sid Ganis was honored with the Spyros P. Skouras Lifetime Achievement Award. Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Ganis has been involved in the marketing, distribution and production of some of our generation’s most recognizable films, and served as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences from 2005-2009. Mr. Skouras was a Greek immigrant who rose to Hollywood fame and was president of 20th Century Fox from 1942-1962.

The closing night festivities also included two film screenings, the short film Abel and the feature-length Wishbone, each followed by director Q&As. After the films, attendees adjourned to a nearby hall for the closing night party. SFGFF is the first and longest-running Greek film festival in the United States, and is dedicated to recognizing, supporting and promoting the best film work by Greek and Cypriot filmmakers from around the world.
