SFMOMA Breaks Records with Annual Art Bash Blowout

SFMOMA’s annual Art Bash–a museum-wide multiphase party and benefit–is one of the most hotly anticipated events on San Francisco’s social calendar. From the elegant seated dinner, to special art installations, to an electrifying after party, Art Bash has something for everyone. This year, fans of the artsy soiree turned out in droves on April 23, with a record 2,750 passing through over the course of the evening. Ayesha Curry, Gap Creative Director Zac Posen and Mayor Daniel Lurie were just a few of the VIPs who came to show their support of one of San Francisco’s premier cultural institutions.

The evening kicked off with a seated dinner from McCalls Catering & Events that featured a “forest-inspired” 3-course dinner that emphasized morel mushrooms and other earthy delights. From there, guests were free to enjoy a variety of entertainments, including installations by artists Firelei Báez, Masako Miki and Jeffrey Sincich, as well as performances by Zack Fox, Martin Luther, DJ Lady Ryan and DJ Shortkut. There was dancing throughout the night, and delectable food that guests could enjoy on the go, like sushi rolls and Mission-style tacos. This year’s Art Bash raised over $3.7 million, which will directly support SFMOMA’s education and family programs and community engagement events.
