Stanford Women’s Cancer Center Hosts Benefit at Beautiful Bing Concert Hall

Under One Umbrella, a fundraising group dedicated to supporting the Stanford Women’s Cancer Center, hosted its fundraiser January 27 on campus at Stanford University. More than 475 people filled the performance space at Bing Concert Hall for an evening of food, laughter and world-class music. After walking the on-theme pink carpet, partygoers were greeted by signature pink cocktails upon arrival at the concert hall, then transitioned to a candlelit dinner of seared mero sea bass with herbed polenta, prepared by McCalls Catering. Décor and tables created by floral designer Hunt Littlefield featured flower-adorned hanging umbrellas in a range of vibrant pink hues.

Special musical guests Amy Grant and Vince Gill wowed the crowd with their live performance of the kind of hits that got them both inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. After selling a combined 60 million-plus albums to date, the musical power couple had a lot of beloved tunes to choose from. Each year, the Under One Umbrella benefit raises funds to recruit and retain world-class physicians and scientists, support the clinical trials of new drugs and immunotherapies, and expand and maintain supportive care services for patients and families. This year’s event raised more than $2.5 million, bringing the total raised by the event to more than $72 million since 2009.
