Salesforce outdid itself this year at its annual Dreamfest benefit concert, with headliners P!NK and Imagine Dragons bringing down the house at Oracle Park on September 18. Held in conjunction with their week-long Dreamforce conference, the concert helped raise $8.4 million to benefit UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.
The big event kicked off with a VIP reception and performance by Kygo, followed by Imagine Dragons. Then actor Matthew McConaughey took the stage along with Dr. Nicholas Holmes, president of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals to present the 2024 Colin Powell Medal of Courage Award to 12-year-old UCSF patient Elena Sweet. Each year, the hospital awards the special medal to a pediatric patient who has demonstrated outstanding courage and leadership during their treatment process.
Following the ceremony, a spectacular drone show lit up the sky before high-flying musician P!NK performed for 24,000 cheering attendees. Notable attendees that night included Marc and Lynne Benioff, Susan and Bill Obendorf, Connie and Kevin Shanahan and Parker Harris, among others.
In addition to outstanding clinical care, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals address the developmental and emotional needs of their patients by providing programs like music therapy, facility dog visits, therapeutic play, massage and much more. Because insurance only covers a fraction of the cost for medical expenses, the hospital depends on philanthropic support to carry out its vital mission. The funds raised at this year’s benefit will ensure that the hospital can continue serving families and enriching patients’ lives.
