Tulum-Inspired Benefit Celebrates Belvedere-Hawthorne Nursery School

On May 31 a gracious private residence in Tiburon was transformed into a vibrant celebration of Mexican culture for “Tulum: We Are One,” benefiting Belvedere-Hawthorne Nursery School. Event organizers Rosalie Tolson and Andrea Moorer of Party Curations created an immersive experience within the home’s stunning interior, featuring a dramatic entry installation of oversized dried palm leaves and more than 500 pieces of pampas grass. Guests were welcomed by Trio Estrellas De Oro mariachi band, as they marveled at the show-stopping Mayan-themed ice sculpture as it stood alongside a spectacular pampas grass chandelier.

The exciting live entertainment unfolded across the evening, with The Freshmakers Band opening, followed by DJ Ragbar and percussionist Makinde Peçanha, who energized the dance floor. Liberation Foods served fresh coastal Mexican fare, while On the Rocks Bartending maintained two full-service bars, so no one was ever in danger of running out of ice-cold cerveza. The unquestioned highlight of the night came from Calpulli Tonalehqueh, a leading Aztec dance group, whose powerful performance honored indigenous Mexican traditions. Prominent attendees that night including Petra Bergstein Higby of The Caviar Co. and Renzo and Crystal Azzarello, who came out to show their support for Belvedere-Hawthorne Nursery School’s mission as a parent-led school, owned and operated by the families enrolled in the program.
