Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education, kicked off its 2025 programming season with a Francophile’s dream of a soirée at the Legion of Honor on January 28. The glamorous event brought together the Bay Area’s cultural luminaries for an evening of art, fashion and French-American community and cultural exchange. Villa Albertine Director and Cultural Attachée Sabine de Maussion unveiled an ambitious slate of upcoming programs, including new artist residencies, an expanded Gaming Program and the Night of Ideas public event, among others.
The celebration began in the museum’s iconic Rodin Galleries with a champagne reception featuring decadent bites from Michelin-starred restaurant Hilda and Jesse. This was accompanied by a luscious dessert selection of chocolate brownies, apple tarte tatin and a choux pastry inspired by the praline flavor of a traditional Paris-Brest. Villa Albertine is a cultural institution that supports exchanges in arts and ideas between the United States, France, and beyond. With outposts in 10 US cities—Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Washington, DC—Villa Albertine presents innovative programming nationwide.
