Go for the Sunsets; Stay for the Cuisine at St. Regis Punta Mita

The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, the premier luxury destination situated in the private peninsula community of Punta Mita, has debuted six newly refreshed culinary offerings to further entice epicurean enthusiasts from around the globe. Offering everything from toes-in-the-sand dining to a series of exclusive chef-driven experiences featuring Michelin-starred chefs, the resort now offers more reasons than ever to plan a visit.

“At The St. Regis Punta Mita, we strive to create unforgettable guest experiences, and our new culinary concepts and experiences are an extension of that promise,” said St. Regis Punta Mita General Manager Fernando Gibaja. “As the culmination to the resort’s 15th anniversary last year and property-wide renovation, the  reimagined venues celebrate the rich flavors of Mexico, while delivering the bespoke service and hospitality synonymous with the St. Regis brand.”

Behind the culinary transformation is a talented team that includes Executive Chef Pablo Arias and the recently appointed Food and Beverage Director Rodrigo García Fernández. Together, they bring a wealth of expertise and passion to the resort’s revitalized dining experiences. Additionally, the esteemed Mexico-based design firm, B-Huber has transformed interior and exterior dining spaces. The firm’s influence? The natural beauty of Punta Mita’s surroundings and local culture of course.

Located in the sand, the newly opened Mita Mary offers a relaxed experience where guests can savor an authentic taste of the region with a variety of locally sourced seafood and grilled dishes. Think roasted potato churros, tuna on the rocks, crispy braised short rib tacos, and catch of the day over coals. Here, Executive Chef Pablo Arias showcases his culinary talent through such creative dishes.

Named after the three iconic islands off the coast of Punta de Mita, Las Marietas Restaurant & Bar offers open-air, poolside dining. Guests can savor authentic Mexican and international dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Here, guests can welcome the evenings with the iconic St. Regis Champagne Sabrage ritual that celebrates the transition from day to night.

A part of the new Catch of the Day experience, guests can catch their own meal within Pacific Ocean’s Bahia de Banderas via traditional fishing rod or spearfishing. These fresh catches—ranging seasonally from marlin, to tuna, red snapper, mahi mahi, grouper, crevalle jack, amber jack and many more—are then expertly cooked by the resort’s culinary team and served at either Mita Mary or Las Marietas Restaurant.

An ode to the legacy of Caroline Astor, the distinguished woman who founded the St. Regis brand, elegant Carolina has been the premier fine dining venue in Punta Mita for more than 15 years. The award-wining restaurant highlights the best of contemporary Mexican cuisine, utilizing the freshest local ingredients to craft vibrant, flavorful dishes. Helmed by Chef Alejandro Euroza, the seasonally curated four, six, or ten-course tasting menus, with vegetarian alternatives, all feature ingredients that echo the ancient gastronomic heritage spanning the entire Mexican Republic. The restaurant’s wine list features a thoughtful selection of new world whites and earthy reds, all chosen to enhance the flavors of each dish.

The new lobby lounge, The St. Regis Bar, offers an elevated welcome experience with its selection of craft cocktails and light bites. With panoramic views of the resort and Banderas Bay, the bar features tequila and mezcal tastings, along with a curated menu of signature drinks that highlight the best of local spirits and seasonal ingredients. Signature favorites include the Smoky Maria, featuring bacon fat washed Don Julio 70, roasted tomato juice, with a splash of Worcestershire sauce, chipotle, celery bitter, salt and pepper; Raicilla Margarita, a fragrant mix of lemon juice, agave syrup, Cointreau topped with a serrano chili slice; and the classic Palmoa, blending 7 Leguas Blano with grapefruit and lemon juice, herb sprigs, topo chico and lemon grass syrup.

Set in a tranquil ocean view setting, Sea Breeze offers a casually refined dining experience, focused on wood-fired international cuisine. The menu features everything from perfectly grilled cuts of meat to artisanal pizzas baked in a wood-burning oven, complemented by a selection of wines and handcrafted cocktails from the adjacent Sea Breeze Bar. The bar also offers a selection of light bites, including refreshing ceviche and vibrant salad, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day in the sun. Showcasing the exceptional offerings at Sea Breeze Restaurant, the resort invites guests to dive into the delightful world of pizza making with The Art of Pizza Crafting, an ideal activity for families, friends, couples, and groups of 14 or less. Under the guidance of the expert culinary team, participants will create their own gourmet pizza with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

And finally, as part of the resort’s “Culinary Collection,” the resort collaborates with lauded, global restaurants and bars. Past notable collaborations include the Three Michelin Star Mirazur in Menton, France, led by chef Mauro Colagreco, awarded the “Best Restaurant in the World” by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2019 and recognized with the Sustainable Gastronomy Selection by Michelin in 2020; Tulum-based Arca, led by Chef Jose Luis Hinostroza and inspired by the soul of Mexican street fare and flavors indigenous to the Yucatan Peninsula, with cuisine centered around sustainable recipes that use locally sourced ingredients, paying homage to the culture and local traditions; and Micca Russeo, one of Mexico’s top bartenders, along with Casa Prunes, one of the best bars in Mexico recognized by 50 Best Discovery.

In a place where luxury and natural beauty converge, the culinary offerings at St. Regis Punta Mita elevate the resort’s hospitality to an unforgettable level. Here, every meal is an experience as memorable as the paradise in which it is served.
