Fashionistas Flock to Lake Tahoe for Benefit Runway Show

The League to Save Lake Tahoe and Saks Fifth Avenue partnered for the League’s annual benefit fashion show on August 3. The lucky attendees got an exclusive first-look at the Oscar de la Renta Pre-Spring 2025 collection, while raising critical funds for Tahoe conservation.

The afternoon’s festivities included a luncheon along the Tahoe shore and a full runway show, after which attendees had the chance to do a little shopping in coordination with the team from Saks. Other event sponsors included Waldorf Astoria Lake Tahoe, Team Blair Tahoe Real Estate, Chopard, Christie’s, Wente Vineyards and Macallan. The $1.4 million raised during this premier of Oscar de la Renta’s latest collection, designed by Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, will help protect the pristine natural beauty of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Since 1969, when models first walked down a makeshift plywood runway in front of just 100 spectators, this annual event has mixed fashion, fun and philanthropy. Over the years the show has evolved to become a favorite of the social set, and has raised over $25 million over its 55-year history. These funds have fueled the League’s decades of successful work to keep Tahoe swimmable, hikeable, skiable and enjoyable for all.
