Annual Cabernet for Connoisseurs Event Benefits Family House San Francisco

On October 19, over 200 partygoers converged on Silverado Resort & Spa in Napa to take advantage of the gorgeous fall evening, and support the critical work of Family House San Francisco. Family House provides a welcoming home base for the families of children receiving life-saving treatments at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

This year marked the 28th anniversary of Cabernet for Connoisseurs event, or “Cabs,” and the lucky attendees were treated to an evening befitting the special occasion. The soiree fulfilled the promise of its name, with vintages from over two dozen wineries on hand for the guests to enjoy. The program featured an exclusive and intimate concert with award-winning singer/songwriter Matt Nathanson and testimonials from the organization’s leadership. The evening also included a sumptuous supper and live auction to round out the festivities.

This year’s event honored Adriel Lares and Yvette Tom for their dedicated work on behalf of Family House San Francisco, in addition to the sponsorship of their winery, Memento Mori. Located in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood, Family House San Francisco is a homey, five-story, 80-bedroom facility that sustains a nearly 100% occupancy rate, houses up to 330 people per night, and serves 4,000 individuals each year.
