Award-Winning Film Jaunt Hosts San Francisco Premier at Vogue Theater

The new film Jaunt had its San Francisco Premiere on July 13 at the Vogue Theatre in Presidio Heights. Already an award-winner, the feature debut by SF native Alexi Papalexopoulos drew an invitation-only crowd for the special screening.

The evening kicked off with a red carpet and opening remarks by actor and producer Arianna Papalexopoulos, and featured a Q & A hosted by the film’s producer, Geoff Callan. The guest list included a “who’s who” of the Bay Area including members of the home-grown cast and crew, including native San Franciscans director Alexi Papalexopoulos, his sister actress and producer Arianna Papalexopolous, Siena Newsom Callan, and Boon Johnson, all of whom were making their feature film debuts!

Also on hand was entertainment veteran and the films’ star Blake Worrell; film producer Jeffrey Allard (Texas Chainsaw Massacre); international sensation DJ Goshfather: Mike Shaw (Pursuit of Equality); Alex and Deedee Papalexopoulos; Robert and Barbara Callan; Gordon Glogau; Michael and Melinda Glafkides; and PlumpJack president Hilary Newsom Callan.

Jaunt follows the adventures of a down-on-his-luck photographer struggling with mental illness, and a freethinking Parisienne. After a one-night stand, the two get to know each other–and get further entangled–on a road trip up the California coast from LA to San Francisco. Already the winner of the Audience Award at the LA Greek Film Festival, filmmaker Papalexopoulos is proud to share his new film with the city that helped inspire it.

“We filmed across the entire state of California, with the last four days of production in San Francisco,” he says. “Without question, this film is my love letter to my beloved and native San Francisco.”
