Hammerling Wines in Berkeley provided the picturesque setting for the second annual Whiskey+Wellness gathering, which has quickly become a must-attend event for creatives in the Bay Area’s design community. It was founded with the idea of fostering connections and supporting the sharing of ideas, all in a laid-back environment that encourages relaxation.
This isn’t your grandfather’s networking event – the vibrant crowd swapped out martinis for trendy whiskies poured at a custom bar created by the Mead Quin studio and constructed by Joinery Structures, served alongside wood-fired pizza from Lucia’s. Guests were encouraged to stop by a series of wellness stations positioned around the space, which provided a great place to meet fellow designers and exchange information.
In addition to the pizza and whiskey tasting, partiers were treated to an open bar and a variety of tasty treats dished out by a group of local food trucks. When they weren’t relaxing in the heated outdoor furniture supplied by Galanter & Jones, attendees danced to tunes from a live DJ. Sharp eyes could also pick out some design VIPs in the crowd, including architects Bob Swatt, Brett Moyer, and Suzette Smith, builders Aaron Gordon, Tim McDonald, and George Giannos and realtor Pete Rodway.
Judging from the smiles on the guests’ faces, this year’s Whisky + Wellness was a hit, and next year’s bash holds the promise of even more fun for the region’s makers and creatives. See you in 2025!
